“You are strong. You are important. You are awesome!”

Broadcasting 124 continuously scrolling affirming and empowering messages with bright LEDs, the customized crosswalk signal Affirmation Station invites members of the public to approach, interact, and view themselves – and each other – in a more positive light.

Those who come closer will see a playful sign inviting them to “Push button for J,” where they’ll hear one of 241 affirming messages played aloud in a cheery voice.

Designed to brighten the day of commuters and passersby, this piece uses utilitarian infrastructure to deliver a sublime surprise.
