CityROCK: King Kong

This 15’ high depiction of a giant ape climbing a wall was painted by Corbin Hillam in 2010 for the newly created CityROCK Climbing Center.

It is one of five figures from “old” movies painted on the walls as an homage to building’s previous use as a movie theater. The first King Kong “thriller movie” was released in black and white in 1933 and featuring a giant ape discovered on a forgotten island. (Source: Wikipedia and interview with the artist)
