Moment in Time

Moment in Time is an abstract, finger-like form that was quarried by the artist, Richard Jagoda, in Marble, Colorado. It is comprised of both concave and convex shapes, and combines smooth and textured surfaces. Predominately white Yule marble, the work includes a painted steel rail which runs vertically through a chiseled void in the stone. The rail is a remnant from a mine located in the Breckenridge, Colorado area.

The Pikes Peak Arts Council donated the piece in 1973, and it resides on Cascade Avenue near Monument Street. Two other works by Jagoda, Grizz II and American Bison, are in the Colorado Springs collection.
