This mural was designed and painted in 2003 by students from Colorado Springs’ sister city Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico and students from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS.) It depicts the ruins of the ancient Paquimé civilization near the city of Nuevo Casas Grandes and the famous pottery of the region. Pikes Peak, the Garden of the Gods and the buildings on the UCCS campus represent the Colorado Springs area. See additional photos for mural details. (Source: Dedication plaque)
