Acacia Park

Acacia Park, Colorado Springs' first park, was donated by General William Jackson Palmer, the city's founder, in 1871. It includes a band shell, picnicking, playground, public telephone, shuffleboard building, shuffleboard courts, and sidewalks. The Uncle Wilber Fountain in Acacia Park provides a great place for kids of all ages to cool off in the summer. Acacia's Shuffleboard Facility runs annually from the beginning of June to mid August. Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

We’re anticipating an even larger crowd this year. We are partnering again with the Uncle Wilber Foundation for their fountain opening and festivities. The event is free and open to the public for this family-oriented affair. PBS characters, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, and WordGirl will greet the children, and there will be entertainment...
