Nada Alwadi is a Bahraini journalist, writer and researcher. She has been working in print media since 2003 covering politics and human rights issues in Bahrain and the Middle East. She holds a Master in Mass Communication with an emphasis on women political empowerment in the media. She was a Humphrey/Fulbright fellow at the school of journalism in the University of Maryland. Nada Alwadi covered the recent crackdown in Bahrain for several international media including USA Today Newspaper....

Artist Sherrie Wolf, currently featured in the IDEA Space exhibition "Strange Beauty: Baroque Sensibilities in Contemporary Art," will present. Known for her meticulous and well-researched appropriations from Old Master paintings, Wolf reflects on the practice of artistic appropriation using examples from art history and from her own work. Cost for lunch and lecture. Reservations required.
