      "The Underpants" at Springs Ensemble Theatre Springs Ensemble Theatre "The Underpants" at Springs Ensemble Theatre Presented by Springs Ensemble Theatre at Springs Ensemble Theatre May 31-June 17, 2012 SET proudly presents a cheeky farce by Carl Sternheim, adapted by comic genius Steve Martin. Enjoy over-the-top characters, slapstick comedy and more innuendo than you can shake your stick at! German bureaucrat-landlord Theo Maske and his wife Louise are in a panic because Louise's underpants inexplicably fell down during a royal parade. Afterwards, two unlikely suiters rent the Maske's vacant room to get closer to Louise, and things get hotter than smoked weiners in the boarding house!
