Ashley Cornelius

Ashley Cornelius is the Pikes Peak Region Poet laureate. She is a nationally recognized poet. Her poetry reflects her intersectionality as a Black woman and works towards art equity. Ashley Cornelius is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and is the manager of the RISE program at Denver Health, providing confidential peer support to Denver Health personnel. She is a 2021 Colorado Springs Business Journal Rising Star. She is the 2019 gold winner of the Colorado Springs Independent Best of Artist Category. She competed at the Women of the World Poetry Slam in 2018. She has been featured at Tedx Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Community College, the Colorado Springs Women's March, and the Colorado Nonprofit Association and many other stages and venues. Ashley is the Co-Director of Poetry 719, a poetry group lifting the voices of marginalized communities and BIPOC folks through poetry. A shley is a therapist and believes poetry is a powerful modality for healing. Ashley has a background in poetry education and was the Program Director of an art nonprofit in Denver focused on poetry workshops and curriculum. Ashley is committed to using poetry as a platform to speak up and out for marginalized groups and be a voice for those who have been silenced.

Jasmine Dillavou

Jasmine Dillavou is a Boricua mixed-media artist based out of Colorado Springs. Dillavou received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has shown work in numerous exhibitions across the United States. Through intimate performances and immersive installations, her work explores the complexities of the Carribean Diaspora and identity politics.

Interrobang

Interrobang‽ is an all-original alt-rock/grunge/funk band hailing from Colorado Springs. We bring a hard-hitting sound reminiscent of nostalgic 90's and early 2000's music, something that echos the upbringing of our own musicianship. Our intricate melodies and powerful lyrics beckon a new musical renaissance that speaks to those especially in our generation, holding true to the definition of an interrobang: the grammatical symbol for a question mark and an explanation point combined together. Interrobang‽ is a collaboration comprised of the lead songwriting partnership of Kiera Lynn on vocals and Jacob Blackwell on guitar. Heading up the rhythm section is Alex Buxton on bass and Lonnie Patrick on drums. Kiera, Alex, and Lonnie have been playing around the local area for well over six years and have finally come together with Jacob's impressive melodic songwriting that mirrors Kiera's to create a powerhouse of new and original material that echoes the past but encourages change and progress - something different.

Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a storyteller and entrepreneur living in the mountains of Colorado Springs. I live to make a big difference in people's lives through small acts of love and inspire others to do the same. I aim to give hurting humans hope through Car Window Poetry, a global, social good movement focused on people gathering their friends, writing encouraging poems, and anonymously sharing them on car windows. Since starting Car Window Poetry, we've been featured on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, as well as HLN's MichaeLA, and my new goal is to cover the world with beauty and hope by empowering men and women to share encouraging poems in their communities!

Deeva Is the Artistic Director & Founder of the Ahora Dance, Gypastion, Espiritu Flamenco & Planeta Deeva Productions & Deezine's By Dee and also president and founder of Colorado Springs Puerto Rican Comite Originally from Chicago. She is a Dancer/Choreographer, Singer-Songwriter, Poet ,Actress, Entertainment & Creative Consultant,Promoter,Booking Agent, Party & Event Planner, Stuntperson , Show Producer,Special Effects Makeup Artist, Photographer & has been a Model / Miller Girl, Spokesperson amongst other things. She has been In the Industry for over 18 years Having worked in Major motion pictures with some well known Hollywood Actors,T.V. pilots and shows like Unsolved Mysteries, Cable shows, Six Flags Great America Theme park (Gurnee) , JPM Productions As part of the Creature Crew Alumnus In the number one Fright show in country. Also Doing Improv. @ Second City comedy club in Chicago.In the early 90's she was the Premiere Dancer For the Ruiz Belvis Cultural Dancers Performing in and Around Chicagoland Area She studied under world renown Dancers & Choreographers Darlene Blackburn , Jose Hernandez, Djalaal, Pollie, Joel Hall , Giordano's and at Columbia College. She has a background of various dance styles from Hip-Hop to Latin dance, Afro, Carribean to belly dance & World dance. She also performs her own Unique styles shes developed Nuevo Gitano (New Gypsy) , Abstract fusion,& Urban Crossings her style in which she fuse all techniques.Something we now see alot of others starting to do or trying to attempt. She's been doing it forever. Deeva is ahead of her time and has been doing this for over 18 years. That is not the only thing Deeva does. She studied Theatre and Speech in Chicago and also went to Second City and worked with Burt Haymen .She has also done One woman shows & Gallery Openings Like Around the Coyote , presentations in the flatIron's buiding in Wicker park and alsoThe Pan-American Festival,The International Day of the Woman and Chicago's Zephyr Dance Studio and has also danced with Chicago's Samba School . She was at a time part of Code 3 Records as a Singer/ Songwriter /Choreographer/Manager and also worked with Ozzy M. of Bmarzz productions . She's also worked with other producers and music engineers in past. But as of late she has been making appearances In Chicago, Colorado, at Fort Carson,Local Festivals,And many other Events In and around the Beautiful city of Colorado Springs . Having performed In Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana ,Texas .

Jonathan Marcantoni

Jonathan Marcantoni is a Puerto Rican novelist and publisher of the recently created La Casita Grande Editores, an imprint of Black Rose Writing, which specializes in Latino and Caribbean literature. His books "Traveler's Rest," "The Feast of San Sebastian," and "Kings of 7th Avenue" deal with issues of racial politics and corruption in both the Puerto Rican diaspora and on the island. "Tristiana," due out in 2017, will be his first Spanish-language novel. Marcantoni has appeared on NPR's Fronteras series, NBC Latino, Publisher's Weekly, Nuestra Palabra, Huffington Post, Washington Post, LA Times, El Nuevo Dia, and El Post Antillano. Marcantoni's work has been featured in the magazines Warscapes, Across the Margin, Minor Literatures, PANK, and the news outlet Latino Rebels. He holds a B.A. in Spanish Studies from the University of Tampaand a Master of Humanities in creative writing from Tiffin University.

I have lived in Colorado for 17 years now. I am a Prophet, a Musician, Poet, Writer, Entrepreneur,Tech Savvy, and a man of multiple talents. I design,graphics, album covers, and websites. The Name BigDru is a childhood nickname. At The age of 10 I was called BigDru, B.I.G.-Dru is a Stylized version meaning-Business Is Good-Dru! I have been singing since I was 7 years old. I started singing with My Uncle's Choir in Black Creek, Mississippi. I also sung with The Choir in Benndale, Mississippi at The Church My Mother attended. I started Rapping when I was 10 years old and I have been singing my whole life. The Church is my foundation and background!
