PAES164 is a local 719 artist who remains busy creating murals, tattoos, commissions and everything art related. PAES164 is currently working to revamp Knobhill Urban Arts District via large murals and other art projects.

I am a graphic artist and president of the Colorado Springs Art Guild. I paint geometric abstract forms in both oil, watercolor, and photograph beautiful landscapes. I am inspired by the beautiful Rocky Mountains and Smoky Mountains. If you like contemporary graphic arts, you'll love my work. I've won over 120 awards & honors for my work since 1992. I have six local gallery representations, and have been represented by over 20 galleries. I am a leader in the Pikes Peak region and have won many awards, including a Colorado Springs Mayor's Award. I am a former art director at Play it Now Sports and am now an art instructor at the Colorado Springs Senior Center, Michaels Stores, Sheppard Art Institute, and Cottonwood Art Center and I teach private art lessons at my Briargate home studio. Pegi Ballenger

Pegi Ballenger was born in Houston, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Pegi continued to study commercial art, radio and television at the University of Houston, and computer graphics at Pikes Peak Community College and Dakota County Technical College. She has worked as a copywriter for a CBS television affiliate, as an advertising director, and now freelances as a painter, illustrator and graphic artist. She is an award-winning artist and has taught adult and children's art classes. Pegi has illustrated several children's books including "A Mouse In The Rabbi's Study" (Song Sparrow Press 2008), Kat's Magic Bubble (Savage Press 2007), and three books by Vince Scarlata; Honey of a Dog, Teddy The Amazing Wolf Dog, and Leemor Angelas's Iguana. Pegi, her husband Ray, and their dog live near Woodland Park, Colorado.

J. L. Barnes (often known as @FishWithATopHat online) is a Colorado Springs-based multimedia artist and author. On Twitter and Instagram, she often enjoys being mistaken for a guy because of her ramblings on horror movies, videogames, and tabletop roleplaying. Offline, she draws all kinds of things ranging from the inanely cute to the slightly creepy. Oh, and gentlemen animals. She draws a lot of gentleman animals... so many, in fact, that she has a storybook collection of them all!

Scott Burroughs

Scott “Scooter” Burroughs is a painter, illustrator and designer working in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated with his BA from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California in 1994. Upon graduation he worked as a video game animator and conceptual artist for Sega before being hired by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Scooter worked 10 years for Disney as an animator on movies and mentor for new artists. His credits include: Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, Tarzan, Fantasia 2000, The Emperor’s New Groove, Lilo And Stitch, Brother Bear and several shorts. When the Florida animation studio closed it’s doors, nearly 15 years ago, he moved back to Colorado and began a career in illustration, fine art painting and design. Scooter has always loved the mid-century modern commercial style from the 40’s through the 70’s and his distinct artistic style has been formed by a love and passion for the images from that era. Scooters fun and playful paintings and illustrations celebrate the style of the past and give life to a modern-day retro style of all the things he loves most. Scooter is married to his high school sweetheart Chrysti and has two amazing sons, Maximus and Titus, and two lovable, crazy cats, Butter and Sushi.

Julia McMinn Evans

I am inspired by nature and interpret her beauty into shapes, color and exciting textures. My abstract landscape paintings are filled with color and energy. I develop my design using thumbnail sketches where I work out the composition, the values, and what I want the painting to say. After selecting the best design for the painting I lay out my composition on a textured surface (I like spreading thick gesso with old credit cards: thus avoiding a smooth surface). I then paint layers of color, shapes, and marks, often drawing into the wet paint. Shapes come and go, surprising elements surface and the painting becomes a journey into the unknown. It is this mystery my collectors love.

Lance Green

Lance Green was born in Denver in 1953 and was raised there until age nine. For the next few years he moved around the Southwest with his mother and stepfather, living in the high country of the Colorado Rockies, the Texarkana Bayou and the Deserts of New Mexico and Arizona where he became immersed in Native Art and Culture. During the summers Lance lived with his father and stepmother, Norwegian abstract painter Chris Christopherson, who taught him to paint and was also a big influence in his love of art, especially Modern Art. As a teen his family settled in the East Los Angeles area where they remained throughout his high school and college years. It was there that he developed his love of Latin Art and Culture. It was also there that his high school art teacher Linda Stevens, took an interest in him and gave him the instruction and guidance needed to set his life course as an artist. He majored in Fine Arts at Rio Hondo College in East L A. and went on to be a fixture in the South Bay L A art scene until his move to Colorado in 2004. He now resides and paints in his home studio there. In the late 1990s Lance did a series of intensive one on one workshops with the late contemporary Master Fritz Scholder. Other influences include the San Francisco Figurative Expressionists, Gaugin, Cezanne, Kandinsky, Klee, the Fauves, De Kooning, Basquait, and the Latin Masters. Influences aside, Lance Green is a pioneer in the world of contemporary painting, exploring worlds previously uncharted. Martha Lancaster

MARTHA LANCASTER Born in Memphis, TN, Martha has lived in Colorado Springs, CO since 1978. As a graphic designer, she worked for Wellspring Advertising Agency eight years, producing a monthly magazine, brochures, newsletters, logos, and materials for a large bookselling convention. After that she freelanced for several organizations around Colorado Springs for over 25 years. Later, Martha used her graphic design skills for the Pikes Peak Writers annual writers conferences creating marketing materials. “The paintings in this show were inspired by original photos I’ve taken, or they were created out of my imagination. Constantly nourished by Colorado’s scenic beauty, my love for the outdoors includes downhill skiing, biking, camping, hiking, and nature photography. These watercolor paintings come from my very large nature photo collection taken around the world. Larry McGough

I create digital art that displays symmetry, balance, and precise complexity. My working career was of a technical nature, and my art no doubt contains threads of binary algorithms folded away somewhere in my brain, just begging to be released to a less structured place. My artistic goal is to tame the vector medium of digital creation to induce emotions, abstraction, and joy much the same as conventional art can. You will often find humor hidden in my work. After all, opposites should live in harmony. My work has been displayed and sold at Academy Art and Frame Company, Gold Hill Mesa, and other locations in Colorado Springs.

Sam Newcomb

Artist Sam Newcomb's primary source of inspiration comes from nature and wildlife. Her paintings portray the rich colors and textures of her lifelike renditions. Sam's preferred media is a combination of watercolor, gouache, and color pencil. Primarily self-taught, Sam obtained an associates degree in illustration and design which refined her skills. Sam's art is found in many private homes across the states. She has freelanced for several business enterprises including Current, Inc. and Walter Drake Publishing where she illustrated book covers and greeting cards. Sam has exhibited and won awards in group exhibitions including Pikes Peak Community College, Business of Art Center in Manitou Springs, and Pikes Peak Watercolor Society. Sam's art is displayed in Boulder Street gallery in downtown Colorado Springs.

Jantzen Peake

Jantzen Lennon Peake was born and raised in Redondo Beach, California and currently resides in Colorado Springs, Co. From the first moment he could hold a crayon and move it back and forth on the walls, he knew that he would live his life as a visiona perfecting that art. While attending California State University Long Beach studying animation and illustration, Jantzen juggled being an after school arts instructor for the youth because he sees the value of art in schools and the positive impact art can have on the future. Since graduating from CSULB in 2010, Jantzen Peake has exhibited work throughout Los Angles California and the Front Range of CO. He always has believed in the arts and this has lead him to raise over 2K for D11 schools, Arts and Science programs through the Rotary Club FLIGHT program. Currently Jantzen Lennon Peake has been working on conquiring his visions outside the walls of a gallerie to larger scale walls where everyone can experience these visions metaphorphised to murles. Some of his latest works can be found locally along Platte Avenues, Knobhill Urban Arts District. Artist & Hooper I am an artist & a hooper. Been hooping (I teach it too) since 2009, been an artist always. I grew up an Air Force Brat & lived all over the country as well as in Korea. But now I make my home in Colorado Springs. I studied graphic design & photography, worked as a graphic designer, then spent many years doing fine craft shows (with jewelry mostly, but occasionally with paintings & sculpture) & selling to galleries all over the US as well as a few in Europe & Mexico. My husband is Andy Vick who is the executive director of the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, where he's doing some incredible things to help grow arts & culture throughout the Colorado Springs community.

Impressions that have influenced my work come from many environments, internal and external, including cities, wilderness, and meditation. Mine is a search for that universal image that resonates as if painted by a hand from above. Symbolism from the collective unconscious speaks through me once in a while, if I can step aside, making no stroke a waste, even if in practice. My mind's eye constantly takes "stills" and "video bits" of life around me and flow onto the canvas in rearranged fantasy and communications from an ever growing library of portraits, archetypes, and environments. I am grateful for meaningful exploration of reality through art, and having been at for a while already, expect to continue visual studies until my end.

I am a highly imaginative creator of works ranging from funky abstract acrylic paintings to whimsical children's murals. I also have a flair for handwriting and the invention of fonts, serving clientele in the areas of chalkboard signage as well as unique invitation addressing. I left college at the age of 19 as a consequence of my sister's sudden death. Life has since taken me to a rich variety of cities, cultures and communities; which have gifted me with the joy of inspiration. I choose thick, vibrant colors to convey a story. I strive to bring new vision to the eyes which look upon my expressions. My original creations brighten private homes and businesses, in the form of canvas paintings and/or distinctive wall art. My most extraordinary and celebrated creation attends Junior High.

I have degrees in Art and in Journalism and have found many ways to combine my two loves, including graphic designing and writing about art. I write about the city and its people, especially the creative ones, and take photos of events and people.

I have lived in Colorado for 17 years now. I am a Prophet, a Musician, Poet, Writer, Entrepreneur,Tech Savvy, and a man of multiple talents. I design,graphics, album covers, and websites. The Name BigDru is a childhood nickname. At The age of 10 I was called BigDru, B.I.G.-Dru is a Stylized version meaning-Business Is Good-Dru! I have been singing since I was 7 years old. I started singing with My Uncle's Choir in Black Creek, Mississippi. I also sung with The Choir in Benndale, Mississippi at The Church My Mother attended. I started Rapping when I was 10 years old and I have been singing my whole life. The Church is my foundation and background!
