Betty Ross

I have been juggling costuming and painting since coming to Çolorado Springs in ‘75 and find it has been both challenging and exciting. These disciplines feed each other somehow. I have studied Art History at NYU and UC Berkeley, traveled a lot and watched a lot of good theater, all of which contribute to my work. Both watercolor and acrylic on canvas are my mediums; I also love collage and have used lace and old fabrics in some pieces. I was included in Colorado Springs Abstraction at the Fine Art Center last year.
Landscape, however, is the starting point for much of my inspiration, and I love nothing better than to balance paper and palette on site and risk wind and wild animals.
