I believe I was born to be an artist.
I have been painting professionally for 4 1/2 years and I constantly hone my skills through workshops and classes with local and internationally known artists. My expertise is watercolor batik and I teach classes to beginners and professionals alike.
In 1989 I started a company called the Carefree Cathouse Corporation and for the next decade ran a manufacturing facility which made birdhouses from all types of recycled materials. With six employees I was able to produce designs that sold in such popular catalogs as Potpourri and even appearing on the cover of the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog. Representatives in Seattle, Denver, Dallas, New York, Phoenix and Germany marketed to gift stores across the United States and Europe. Clients included Disneyland, Wild Birds Unlimited and Neiman Marcus. In 1999 a move to Colorado from Arizona allowed me to make a long wished for change.
Currently my focus has been on watercolor but I have also worked in acrylic, oil, wood and metal. I am fortunate to live in Colorado and find a great source of inspiration in my surroundings and throughout the west.
I was recently re-elected President of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.
