Susan Jacobsen

My name is Susan Jacobsen. I am an artist, art therapist, wife and mother; not necessarily in that order. In my art work I use oil, collage, acrylic, and photography as my personal narrative. As an Art Therapist, I have worked in out patient settings and in-patient settings with a variety of populations of people ranging from severely mentally ill, to families and children. I am currently combining my own experience of physical illness and infant loss with my art therapy practice to create groups and individual art experiences for those who are looking to become mothers as well as for those who have experienced the pain of losing their baby.

I have lived in Southern Colorado for over 10 years with my son and my husband. We enjoy boating, camping, fishing, and hiking as a family. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends as well as playing volleyball and practicing yoga.

I have a MS in Art Therapy and am registered and board certified in Art Therapy. In addition, I am a licensed counselor in the states of Colorado and Nebraska.
