“A Look Back at The Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb”

Pikes Peak Hill Climb racer Don Sanborn  presents “A Look Back at The Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb”.

The Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb originally started by Spencer Penrose in 1916 has now been running for over 100 years.

This presentation will look at how the race has changed over time, how the course has changed, how safety measures evolved and how the cars, divisions and classes changed to encompass new technology and respond to changing road conditions.

Don Sanborn is current President of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Historical Association (Over the Hill Gang) and member of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Museum Committee. Don, his Father (Frank) and his Uncle (Nick) have all raced in the Hill Climb.
