An evening of contemporary music with TAG Taylor Abbott Gordon

 TAG (Arranger and Composer Tom Taylor on Guitars, Pat Abbott on Electric and Acoustic Bass, and Bud Gordon on Trumpet, Flugelhorn and Cornet) will be playing The Gold Room at 18 S. Nevada Ave on FRIDAY, Jan. 16. Tom Taylor is a renowned composer, arranger and guitarist who has recorded under his own name with Dave Grisman, has composed the groundbreaking "Ishi Sings" for Orchestra and Recorded voice, and who has played guitar as leader of his own Needlewood Orchestra and many others. Pat Abbott is new to the Springs and has already made an impact on the live music scene, playing at Mezzanine, Motif, and working with some of the Springs' finest musicians. Bud Gordon has been in the Springs since 1995, has played many FAC Rep. musicals, performed with Springs Contemporary Jazz big band, has led the legendary Orquesta Sabroso with Dennis Bueno, and performed in numerous small group jazz, classical, and popular music settings throughout Colorado. Touring with Ray Charles, recording with Ren & Stimpy, and trading solos with Bobby Shew, Pete Christlieb, Carl Fontana and more have filled his muscial resume. 

Tom has written some great arrangements of jazz standards as well as a few rock classics for TAG. We'll play those, some of Tom's originals, throw in some funky Latin, New Standards, and top it all off with our creative improvisations.
