Featuring Andrew Wroble and Tony Guido, our September ArtWalk is sure to satisfy your love of the forest.
Both artists will be demonstrating their chosen mediums and debuting new collections.
Andrew Wroble will be visiting us from Harpers Ferry, IA. Forest forms emerge as he applies water and India Ink to paper. “I start drawing by brushing or floating washes over paper. Most of this activity drifts directly toward some unknown because of the physical properties of liquids.
Ink finds its own level as it flows over and around fibers on the surface. These react like trees in a landscape responding to natural forces. Then, while some of the drawing is still moist, Water is flooded over the entire page to remove any remaining ink. Dry elements are left bonded in place. Latent marks, line, and context take shape.” -Andrew Wroble
Tony Guido is a local potter living right here in Colorado Springs.
You will be amazed as you watch him carve aspen groves and dimples of texture into his functional pottery. When Tony moved to Colorado in 2002, he felt at home with Colorado’s majestic outdoor playground.
In his studio, Tony has been inspired to create functional ceramics, accenting Colorado’s motif of aspens, pinecones, and mountain views.
ArtWalk is the perfect time to place your custom orders with Tony. Have him carve names, initials, or dates into the aspen to create a memorable gift for anyone in your life. Hummingbirds, mountain scapes, and pine forests are the newest additions to his collection.
