'Animal Instincts'

From the festive sleigh bells of Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kije to the sassy horse that closes out Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, we think you’ll be merrily tapping your foot all afternoon.

The program also includes Tchaikovsky’s glorious Nutcracker Suite #1 and the Classical Symphony of Prokofiev, as well as a charming set of other well loved works by Anderson.

To increase your appreciation of this program, a pre-concert lecture by the conductor will begin at 2:15 p.m.

The Pikes Peak Philharmonic has been performing great music in Colorado Springs for more than 50 years. We are a community orchestra made up of people like you, whose love of music brings us together to create a collage greater than the sum of its parts.
