Arts Market Survey Launch
Please note, this event has expired.
The kickoff event for the Colorado Springs Creative Collective Arts Market Survey, part of a project that seeks to create an affordable live/work space for artists.
The Arts Market Survey is part of a feasibility consultation being conducted by the national nonprofit Artspace at the invitation of the Colorado Springs Creative Collective.
The goal of the survey is to assess Colorado Springs’ level of need and interest in an affordable-housing property for artists and creative workers such as chefs, photographers, graphic artists, etc. The survey will collect input on a proposed mixed-use, affordable-housing property for artists and creatives to be constructed in Downtown Colorado Springs.
The Arts Market Survey will launch at a free, open-to-the-public event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 15.
Location: Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College, 30 W. Dale St., Colorado Springs
- Short presentation from Artspace staff on the work of their organization.
- Examples from 46 successful Artspace projects in other American cities.
- Data to support economic and community impact of providing affordable space for the arts.
The survey will ask members of the public about:
- Amenities the property should include,
- Which creative industries should be represented,
- What “affordable” means to them with regard to rent on living and studio space.
The survey will be open for input from May 15 through June 30, 2017, with a goal of garnering at least 350 responses from artists and creatives with interest in the Pikes Peak Region. The survey will launch on Monday, May 15, and can be reached via http://cscreativecollective.org/.
Artspace will synthesize survey responses into a market report that will be accessible to the public, including developers and community groups interested in building affordable facilities for creatives in Colorado Springs.
