Awna Teixeira

Portuguese-Canadian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Anwa Teixeira has toured the world since 2001, mainly as co-leader of the indie-roots sensation, Po'Girl. Awna is now on tour supporting her 2012 solo release, "Where The Darkness Goes," as well as a new EP, "Thunderbird." Awna will also preview her forthcoming record, "Blue Heart on Your Sleeve," and will be accompanied by Jay Speed on guitar and banjo.

Although she handles the accordion, guitar, banjo, harmonica and ukulele with ease, it's Awna's songs that will bring you back to the classic feel of front porch spirituals, where tales of heartache and travel are laced with accordion-driven European folk.
