‘Black Klansman’ Author Ron Stallworth Talk presented by Pikes Peak Community College at Pikes Peak Community College: Centennial Campus, Colorado Springs CO

Propelled to fame by Spike Lee’s hit film, based on his now best-selling book about an unusual police undercover operation, Ron Stallworth will discuss his time in the police academy at Pikes Peak Community College as well as the CSPD.

In the '70s, Ron Stallworth was working as a rookie cop at the Colorado Springs Police Department when he decided to follow up on an advertisement her saw in the Gazette Telegraph. It was recruiting members for the local chapter of the KKK.

That phone call led to one of the most unusual undercover operations in American history. A black officer posed as a white supremacist to gain access to the Klan.

Spike Lee read the book and adapted it into a film -- "The BlacKkKlansman."
