Why were Colorado’s cowboys, rodeo riders, lumberjacks and skiers recruited to serve in World War II?

Why were Colorado’s cowboys, rodeo riders, lumberjacks and skiers recruited to serve in World War II?

Cowboys, rodeo riders, lumberjacks and skiers were recruited to liberate Italy in World War II. The Army needed men and women who lived the rugged, high-altitude life and knew hard work, horses, frigid snow-camping, winter survival, and skiing. Learn about these remarkable men and women and the amazing feats they performed during World War II. Retired Marine Col. Tom Duhs will present a slide program with pictures you haven’t seen before and the stories of every day heroes.
