Do you remember Carl Sagan on Johnny Carson? Come to PPLD and salute Carl, Johnny and billions and billions of stars.
Team Opening Minds;TOM is a recently formed pro science, pro STEM group that will be showing two of TV’s most outstanding series. We will be alternating between Carl Sagan’s “Cosmos” on the science side and Steve Allen’s “Meeting Of Minds” on the historic side.
This is a multi generational effort. We want all generations to participate. Some of our plans in the future include measuring the circumference of the Earth with five foot sticks and creating a “new” Rosetta Stone from multicultural pamphlets produced by the DMV and Social Security Administration. See episodes 1 and 12 of Cosmos for details.
This is the perfect event for the upcoming Earth Day on April 22. Team Opening Minds (TOM) will be showing both Sagan’s original Cosmos and Steve Allen’s award winning docudrama “Meeting of Minds” on a regular schedule. A short discussion period will follow the viewing of the film.
