Court Care 5K Race To Protect the Childen

The “Protect the Children 5K” is presented in support of Court Care, the only nonprofit in the Pikes Peak region that provides childcare for children whose parents are called to court for legal proceedings. All services are provided at no charge to families.

Court Care ensures children do not see their parents testify about – or be tried for – a crime, do not listen to the intimate details of their parents’ divorce or child custody battles, and never witness a parent in shackles being sentenced to prison. Without this program, children would attend court hearings, probation meetings, mandated drug treatment programs, or observe other matters that are simply inappropriate. Crime and domestic violence victims rely on Court Care to keep their children safe during protection order hearings to ensure family safety.
