'Creative Gambit'

Commonwheel is proud to present Jennifer Hanson, Liz Kettle, and Kay Liggett in a groundbreaking collaborative show.

As established artists in the mediums of clay, fiber, and wood, they have combined their creative energies to produce compelling and imaginative art pieces.

Creative Gambit refers to their art as a device to produce innovative collaborations and alludes to the inherent risk associated with artmaking.

“Gambit” is a device, action, or opening remark, typically entailing a degree of risk, that is calculated to gain an advantage. “Creative Gambit” refers to the artwork as a device to gain creativity and alludes to the inherent risk associated with artmaking, especially collaborative work.

Jennifer, Liz, and Kay will be taking an artistic risk for Creative Gambit, calculated to increase their growth as artists. The common theme for the show is the risk-taking stretch of their artistic boundaries.
