Curious Palate Beer Tasting Class: What’s Hops Got to Do with It?

 The basic ingredients of beer are water, a starch source (malted barley) that will converted to sugars, a yeast to produce the fermentation, and a flavoring such as hops. Hops contain several characteristics that brewers desire in beer and contribute a bitterness that balances the sweetness of the malt. Hops are responsible for floral, citrus, and herbal aromas and flavors in beer. Let’s see how hops change the brew, shall we?
