Directions From Here: New Work by Tara Kelley-Cruz

Join us for an art opening featuring the work of our recent studio resident, Tara Kelley-Cruz on November 2nd, 6-9pm.

This series of Tara’s paintings is about “searching for our own path and the questions that we ask when looking towards the stars. Inspiration can be found, though at times it’s hard to recognize. To quote Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.” Stars and the heavens have become symbolic in my paintings of a search for direction, guiding our path. Other themes in this series are journeying, hope, and the things in life that shape who we are.”

Tara Kelley-Cruz works in the themes of journeying, spiritual direction/progression and hope amid despair. Tara lives and works in Colorado Springs, CO. She works with many mark-making implements along with acrylic paint, collage and glazes in a layering method. Tara has a printmaking background (printmaking was really her first love). Some
