Dynamic Character Illustration

Be guided through a complete design process by instructor Demian Shipley-Marshall to learn how to create your own original characters for story, comic, game, anime, or what ever else you might fancy.

Learn how to best develop you ideas from scratch, and learn drawing and illustration techniques to turn them into professional presentations.

You will start the class by brainstorming ideas using traditional literary archetypes as inspiration, then work with sketching techniques to quickly experiment with and develop your character to their best potential.

Then use techniques in graphic and colored pencils to create a final presentation of your drawing that shows off your character at their best, ready for you to show as a concept, art, or just something to impress your friends.

All skill sets are welcome. Age 13 through adult recommended.

MATERIALS
A selection of graphic pencils 2H to 6B, a box of colored pencils, kneadable eraser, graphic pens, smudge sticks, a medium sized sketch pad, a tablet or smart phone (something that can get wifi).
