'Espíritos da Solidão'
Please note, this event has expired.
Portugese for “spirits of solitude” this companion show features the work of two local artists – painter, Sparky LeBold, the founder of the Cottonwood Center for the Arts, accompanied by ceramic sculptor, Maggie Quinn, the original founder of the “We-Us-Our” Gallery.
LeBold captures the secluded and undisturbed cliffsides and beaches on the Portuguese ocean, as well as the endless skies and hillsides of the Southern Colorado landscapes.
Evoking a spirit of solitude, he gives the viewer the impression that we are being given a secret glance at places untouched, unmarred and in many ways, uncomplicated by the world beyond.
Maggie Quinn’s hauntingly beautiful ceramic sculptures and vessels gives form to the spirits, ghosts and memories that might inhabit those landscapes of solitude yet keeps them just out of our grasp.
These two spectacular artists come together in this powerful exhibit. The manifestation of the spirit, in ceramic form and the landscapes by which they might inhabit, painted in oil on canvas.
