The class will create this enticing journal from start to finish in this class. Don’t fret about not being an expert stitcher! This textile journal or sketch book is stitch and book beginner friendly. Ages 16 and up. basic sewing machine experience required.
Level: Fascination – These classes will introduce you to a new skill, concept or technique and are open to all levels. The student may, however, be required to have a basic skill or have taken a certification class. For example, for a flat-pattern drafting class one need not know anything about flat-pattern drafting but should have a basic understanding of the sewing machine. Any prerequisites will be listed in the class description.
Materials Fee: $15 for Multi-Purpose Cloth, zippers, hand dyed twill tape, waxed linen thread and Fusible web. Also include use of bone folders, needles and tools
Supplies to Bring
- Assorted fabrics for your cover and zip bag. This is a great place to use scraps and remnants
- Thread to match or coordinate with your fabrics
- Mixed media paper such as Strathmore or Canson. 20 pieces cut to 14″ x 11″ or your favorite book paper
- 1 piece of card stock 3″ x 11″ (can be scrap)
- Ribbon, sari silk, or cord for wrap
- Large button
- Size 90 machine embroidery needle
