Fast Start on the Sewing Machine

If you have been exposed to some form of sewing on a machine, enjoy learning more about what it is like to use a sewing machine before investing in one!  In three hours you will learn how to thread and sew a straight line. You will learn secrets about handling the machine that normally take forever to figure out on your own. Get comfortable with the sewing machine and ythen make a drawstring bag to bring home!

In just one class you will learn how to: operate a sewing machine and thread it correctly, sew straight lines, construct basic seam allowances, finish seams, and create topstitching. By the end of class, you will have an attractive drawstring tote bag to prove you know how to sew!

This class includes Manitou Art Center Certification to use the basic sewing machines.

Supplies to bring:

• Your choice of 1/2 yard fabric
• Matching threads
• Scissors
• Pins
• Drawstring (dyed or plain clothesline rope)
• Measuring tapes
