Film Appreciation with Dr. Charles Berg

Charles Berg is a prolific author whose works include "Latino Images in Film: Stereotypes, Subversion, and Resistance," "Posters from the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema," "The Classical Mexican Cinema: The Poetics of the Exceptional Golden Age Films" (due in 2014), along with many contributions to the World Film Encyclopedia, The International Directory of Films and Filmmakers, and The Oxford Encyclopedia of Latinos and Latinas in the United States. Dr. Berg’s passion for filmmaking and cinema lent to the co-founding of the Austin Film Society–a well-respected organization within the world of film production and appreciation. He served as its president from 2001-2003, and he is a charter member of its Board of Directors. Recently appointed to the National Film Preservation Board of the Library of Congress, Professor Berg also was recognized as a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow from 1997-1998.

Professor Berg continues to teach courses in film history, criticism, screenwriting, and narration, and lends his voice to speaking engagements around the country. Lecture and Screening, 7:30 pm, April 2nd, 2014–Cornerstone Screening Room, Colorado College.
