Iconic Portraits In Oil

This class will be based on completing an oil painting of your favorite icon! Whether it be an influential artist, musician, writer, or your greatest mentor, this class will take you from start to finish through a painting of one of your favorite people. Using a photograph for inspiration, we will paint our iconic portraits. Experience in oil painting is preferred but beginners with strong drawing skills are welcome in a small class environment. Self-expressionism is key!

Materials
Small variety paintbrush set, small paint set (at least five colors), small palette knife, paint palette (any kind), small glass jar with lid, canvas boards (5×7 to 9×12) or canvas notepads (8×10 or 9×12) to get started – you can decide on your final canvas size after the first class. Don’t forget to bring a photo of your icon to work from!
