Knitting with Emilie

Learn the basics of knitting in this two-hour introductory class. The group will discuss yarn/needle selection, swatch/gauge creation, when to use a pattern, and when to wing it.

By the end of the two hours, you will have the skills to knit a simple scarf using the three main steps you will use in all future knitting projects: cast on, knit, and bind off. For those who pick up the material quickly (and those with some prior knitting experience), you will move on to more advanced techniques, time permitting, such as increasing/decreasing stitches, purling, combining knit and purl stitches to create ribbing and other textures, and even cabling.
