Copper jewelry is the theme of our October ArtWalk. We are featuring two talented local jewelry makers, Mariah Cunningham & Lani Robertson. Join us on Friday, October 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Using a kiln, Mariah Cunningham will be applying enamel finish to her copper earrings & pendants. Watch her sprinkle a delicate layer of powdered glass and then melt it into a glossy vibrant finish. Mariah often combines etching and enameling techniques to create an even more dynamic one of a kind appeal to her collection.
Lani Robertson will be stamping texture into her statement earrings, bracelets & pendants as well as prepping pieces for electroforming. Acute triangles, crescent moons, beehives, and delicate arches come alive with the tappity tap of her hammer as she applies subtle texture. Have you seen her electroformed collection? What is electroforming? Come to ArtWalk and find out.
To help make your First Friday experience more convenient and enjoyable, the Cultural Office and our program partners are pleased to provide free ADA accessible shuttle bus service from April through October. Two buses make a continuous loop between Downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City, and a third bus makes a continuous loop between Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs. The stop in Old Colorado City is a transfer point. Park near any shuttle bus stop location, then hop on, hop off!
