Marina Eckler

In the tradition of going away office parties, visual artist Marina Eckler will host a going away party for humanity. This event will highlight the role of human folly and decadence in creating climate change, which some scientists now believe to be irreversible. Visitors will be invited to mill around, sharing thoughts and memories of humans. What were they good at? What can we laugh about now that they’re leaving? What will planet Earth become, and what will come after us? This party will feature office supplies, bulletin boards, input from a climate scientist, and a very large cake. Free and open to the public.

ArtPOP is a cooperative program of the Pikes Peak Arts Council and the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region. The program features 20 curated “pop-up” art events for Arts Month that will take place throughout our community during the month of October.
