Menstrual Art & Body Positive Art Party!

Let’s rethink menstruation and lift the stigma by making menstrual art! For sanitary reasons, we suggest using paints and not actual period blood for this event, but encourage you to do so at home!

Pikes Peak Womxn for Liberation recognizes that not all womxn and not only womxn menstruate, so they want this to be an open space where folx can express their bodies, especially the parts of us that are stigmatized, in a creative way. This might involve taking a piece of writing and turning it into a painting!

Go With the Flow will have more information about menstruation at this event and how everyone can lift the stigma!

Who can attend? This event is open to trans, gender nonconforming, nonbinary, genderfluid, and womxn-identifying people. It is a public, free, all-ages, intersectional anti-capitalist feminist event. Read more about why this event has gender restrictions here.

Getting there: Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 25 W Kiowa St in Colorado Springs. It is a historic building located in between Penrose Library (downtown) and PPCC Downtown Studio Campus. Venue capacity is 49.

What to bring: Canvass cloth to protect the historic floors; canvass, paper, paints, paintbrushes, any other art supplies you choose to bring; and a body positive attitude! There will be some supplies available but folx are encouraged to bring their own.

Childcare: Children are welcome to this event. There will be art supplies for them to use, as well as snacks.

Accessibility: There is an elevator in the building that takes you upstairs to where the event will be held.
