Music Mondays: Jazz and Blues Night

The talented Mike Sunjka was born in Los Angeles, and honed his jazz guitar skills at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mike has performed with such notables as Neil Sedaka, Bernadette Peters, Billy Eckstein, Brook Benton, Johnny Nash, The 5th Dimension, Little Anthony and Jazz greats such as Kirk Whalum, Willie Bobo, Bucky Pizzarelli, and many others.

Mike feels at home in a vast variety of musical situations including jazz, solo guitar, pop, rock, blues and even performing with orchestras such as the Houston Symphony and The Houston Grand Opera. While residing in Houston, Mike was one of the most respected and sought after guitarists for live performance, recording sessions, and Broadway shows.

After leaving Houston, Mike lived in Southern New Mexico where he played at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort in Ruidoso for several years. Mike is currently involved in recording projects at his Double Image Studio, and has just completed an R&B/jazz project with San Antonio keyboardist Ricky Hernandez.
