Music on the Labyrinth: All Those Who Wander

First Christian Church is presenting All Those Who Wander, a folk alternative group.

First Christian Church is presenting the next program in their Music on the Labyrinth series, featuring All Those Who Wander, a folk alternative group.

The program will be held outdoors on the labyrinth on the south side of the church, but will move indoors for inclement weather. You may bring a blanket or a chair, or just sit on the labyrinth wall.

There will be an ice cream truck on site, and ice water is available.  A free will offering will be taken.

All Those Who Wander is a folk music project by Colorado songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Nick Booker, in collaboration with Anthony Vick on fiddle and Forrest Alvarez on mandolin and vocals.

His work is characterized by his own vivid small town storytelling as well as the unique retelling of stories both ancient and modern.

From fast and furious Bluegrass to old world Celtic, and of course, original songs that are the product of both, All Those Who Wander is both a realization and a revival of the folk tradition.

The project walks in the footsteps of great and varied folk artists such as Stan Rogers and Old Crow Medicine Show while paving the way with new stories and new ways of telling them.

Nicholas Booker performs in a myriad of styles, from folk to classical. He has studied flute since the age of nine, but the spark for his musical inspiration was lessons, jam sessions, and a church praise group on guitar in high school.

He has always had a close relationship with folk music and has loved performing his music in settings from the Sydney Opera House to Scottish pubs.

He has a strong classical background and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Denver, but his folk style is defined by bluegrass, Appalachian folk music, Canadian folk music, and Scottish and Irish folk music.

In keeping with folk traditions, he explores many instruments including guitar, flute, voice, piano, and penny whistle.
