Monday Nights, beginning June 1st
Drawing 101
5:15pm – 7:15pm With Brett Andrus $150, model fee included
If you have never drawn before, or feel rusty on your drawing skills, this is the class for you! Students will be taught basic sight reading, handling of media, artistic vocabulary, still life and life drawing, and introduction to perspective. This class is the perfect starting point for all classes in the ModboCo curriculum.
Sound Smart At the Museum 2
7:30pm – 9:30pm With Brett Andrus $150.
Do you find yourself perplexed in galleries or museums? Do you wonder what makes art “good”? This class is for you! We’ll focus on art appreciation, art history, and demystifying your relationship with art. We’ll also introduce you to the major art makers from the late 1800s to a couple weeks ago. You’ll learn about artists, art movements, and their correlation with previous art movements. You don’t need to have taken the 101 version of this class, so no excuses there. And furthermore, this will not be a date memorization class, it will actually be fun. We pinky swear.
Tuesdays, beginning June 2nd
Drawing 301
5:15-7:15 pm With Brett Andrus. $150.
This class is for graduates of our earlier drawing curricula (with some exceptions with consent of instructor). Students will learn how to draw from imagination, as well as work on illustrations and what that means. Some sequential art will be created during this class. We’ll also work on honing the artists’ ability to create and understand composition.
Oil Painting 201/202
7:30pm – 9:30pm With Brett Andrus $150.
This intermediate and advanced intermediate oil class is great for those students who have taken our Oil 201 or Oil 101 classes alike. Even advanced students will get something out of this course. We’ll work on individual pacing, media handling, brush strokes, figure painting, and plein air. Further your knowledge in the wide world of oil painting with this delightful course!
