Niki Woehler

Join Broadmoor Galleries Thursday June 7th, in welcoming celebrated abstract Arizona artist Niki Woehler. Woehler’s bold artworks feature mesmerizing layers of colors, brilliantly interplaying, creating complex organic textures reminiscent of stone. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, her work explores the ravages of time on weathered objects, believing there is a great beauty in exploring the imperfect. Her massive canvases rise and fall like the surface of a topographic map boasting as many as 45 layers in a single work.  Avoiding the traditional paintbrush, Woehler prefers to use rollers, knifes, squeegees and trowels in her process biased approach.

This accomplished artist has been featured in countless shows and Galleries throughout the west but this was not always the case Woehler worked as an  executive for a marketing firm for many years in which time she described herself as a, “closet artist”, painting her sculptural works any spare minute this busy mother of three could muster. Eventually she made the transition and was able to pursue her passion full time and she has never looked back!
