The Home Front Cares (THFC) began in 2003 as an all-volunteer initiative led by two retired Air Force officers, keenly aware of the financial and emotional struggles families of deployed military members are prone.
In its first full year of operation, THFC provided $34,000 in aid to military families in the Pikes Peak region. Since then, THFC has grown into a statewide agency serving all branches of the U.S. military. Last year, THFC granted approximately $362,000 in critical financial assistance to support military individuals and families. Additionally, THFC provided:
- 365 families with stability through financial bridge assistance to get them back on their feet
- Over 500 children with the security of a home and essential transportation for the entire family
- Nearly 1,500 individuals or families with resources to ensure that they received the mental, emotional vocational and financial counseling help they needed
THFC provides emergency grants (not loans) to pay essential life expenses such as rent, utilities, and car repairs. Their clients are vetted to confirm their military service and financial need and THFC pays the vendors, such as the landlord or utility company, directly.
This tournament’s purpose is to raise money for these essential services provided by The Home Front Cares.
