Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care – Blessings of the Hands Ceremony presented by Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care at ,

This nondenominational service will include reflective time, a prayer over each participant’s hands, and other ritual activities lead by Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care’s leadership.

End of life care has a special impact on both family and professional caregivers.

The need to serve a loved one while experiencing their end of life journey often means that caregivers put another’s needs above their own. This can lead to great joy and satisfaction in providing critical care, yet at the same time can sometimes contribute to emotional and physician health challenges.

At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, we recognize the gift of being a caregiver can have on others.

Through our 120 employees, 200 volunteers, and more than 5,000 family caregivers that we touch each year, we know the power of hope and healing made possible by caregivers.

Rituals are often comforting during the end of life journey. We remember our loved ones’ special sayings and quotes, favorite meals and recipes, and songs or activities.

Caregivers return to these rituals to keep their loved one alive in their hearts, memories and family.

Through the Blessing of the Hands ceremony, the ritual of providing energy and love to caregivers by recognizing the one tool they use the most – their hands – will prepare family and professional caregivers for caring in 2019.

Whether employed in a caregiver capacity – in a hospital, long term care facility, home health or hospice provider; or as a family caregiver to an ill adult or child, the Blessing of the Hands ceremony will give us all the opportunity to pause, reflect on the wonders of caregiving, and give strength as we navigate life’s journey.

This nondenominational service will include reflective time, a prayer over each participant’s hands, and other ritual activities lead by Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care’s leadership.
