Education Session #2: CLG Training Track for Historic Preservation Commissions and Boards:
Certified Local Governments & Survey. Surveys provide a foundation of information that supports a wide array of local preservation efforts. This session will provide an introduction to built environment survey and the role that survey plays in the work of CLGs. Presenter: Amy Unger, National and State Register Historian, History Colorado

This Old Home: Researching the History of Houses and Other Buildings in Colorado
Interested in learning the history of your house? Whether it’s a mansion or a modest dwelling, History Colorado’s collections hold clues about buildings—and the individuals associated with them. Learn how to successfully research your property. Presenter: Erika Schmelzer, Cultural Resource Information/GIS Specialist (Architecture), History Colorado
Workshop Session #2: Building Condition Assessments and Conservation Planning. This unique two-part workshop begins with an overview and handouts to help guide your historic building condition assessment process. Then Architect Gregory Friesen of CSNA architects will present a fascinating synopsis of the building conservation plan their firm completed for Saint John’s Abbey Church, funded by the Getty Foundation. Facilitated by Tim Boddington.
Walking Tour #2: Exterior, grounds and historic McWillians Parish House, led by the Docents of Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church (to be repeated.)

Education Session #6: CLG Training Track for Historic Preservation Commissions and Boards:
Understanding Historic Tax Credits and The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The State of Colorado offers tax credits to both homeowners and businesses to help offset the costs of rehabilitating or renovating a historic property. Find out how you can take advantage of these credits and how they have helped to revitalize neighborhoods and Main Streets around Colorado. Presenter: Joseph Saldibar, Architectural Services Manager, History Colorado
Workshop Session #3: My Old House! A special preservation trades open house with one-on-one opportunity to bring your project and ask questions of the experts in historic building preservation and rehabilitation. Meet the experts and brainstorm solutions to your challenges.

4:00-4:30: My Old House Trades and Crafts Open House continues, to close our day! Reconvene after a day of learning and sharing at our special preservation trades open house – and celebrate National Preservation Month with cake, of course!
