Progressive Organ Recital

The Colorado Springs Chapter of the American Guild of Organists is presenting their annual progressive organ recital, a series of 30-minute programs at downtown churches, played by local church organists. The first program will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Grace & St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The next program, beginning at 7:15 p.m., will be at Shove Chapel on the Colorado College campus, 1010 N. Nevada Avenue. The final program at First Congregational Church, 20 E. St. Vrain Street, will begin at 8:00 p.m., and will be followed by a dessert reception. Featured performers for the programs are: Grace & St. Stephen's Episcopal Church – Donald Zimmerman, Deke Polifka and Rob Carefoot playing music of Johann Pachelbel, Paul Spicer and Dom Paul Benoit; Shove Chapel – Gerald van Dusseldorp, Carol Wilson and Joseph Galema playing music of César Franck, Marcel Dupré, Charles Marie Widor, and John West; First Congregational Church – Scott Christiansen, Bonnie Linder, Deke Polifka and Carol Wilson playing music of Alfred Lefébure-Wély, Adolphe Adam, Jean Langlais and Denis Bédard.
