'Small Tales'

Join us for a juried show of artists in the style of Beatrix Potter.
Cottonwood is thrilled to announce a juried show for December, composed of artists of all mediums, coming from within Cottonwood and from across the region.
These artists have taken inspiration from Beatrix Potter, a natural scientist, illustrator and writer born in 1866.
Beatrix Potter’s work was heavily influenced by a love of fairy tales, fanciful characters, flora, fauna, and the landscapes found in northwest England and Scotland. Growing up with many pets of all types and a keen interest for the natural sciences, she became well known for botanical illustrations, and later on for writing and illustrating children’s books – the most notable of which being The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Working within the parameters of her brand of inspiration while avoiding direct imitation, the artists of this show bring you their interpretation of our modern world through the lens of Beatrix Potter, with the results being a charming and delightful collection to view.
