A new lecture series begins at the Western Museum of Mining & Industry held the second Tuesday of every month from February to November. The lectures will be mining-related topics of interest.
Enjoy this kick off lecture with Western Museum of Mining and Industry’s former curator, Larry Frank Jr. as he discusses his book Colorado’s Great Depression Gold Rush: The Oliver Twist Tunnel.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the lecture is from 7 to 8 p.m.
Larry Frank, Jr. came to Colorado in 1981 as a staff engineer on the Colony Shale Oil Project in Parachute. On May 2, 1982, Exxon shut down the project, throwing thousands of people out of work and devastating the Grand Valley. After
