The homework has been done, and this means unexpected ramblings and performances that dig deep into not only the Doors music and Morrison’s poetry, but into the scattered history of rock and roll music itself, and the obscure.

The guitar is handled by Neville Harson, a vinyl collecting fiend, who knows how to turn off the rigid mind and sink into the onslaught of music without form. Taking the Doors music and inserting his own psychedelic-punk spirit, Neville expands the palette of the band and allows for the odd left turns it takes through improvisation and spoken-word expressionism.

An award winning composer, arranger, and you-name-it-he’s-probably-done-it of twenty-five years in the music industry, David Wohl is the the musical glue of The Strange Parade. Cascading keyboard runs, soaring jazz solos, and a solid left hand taking on the bass at the same time — David takes Manzarek’s legacy and runs with it. Anywhere the music goes, expected or improvised, David is there with it, giving it a channel to follow.

Many drummers are considered to be the backbone or the “heart” of the band. While Greg Corcione does provide a heartbeat, his drumming is an instrument of melody just as much as rhythm. A man who refuses to ever be given the task of just keeping a beat, Greg finds every pocket possible and talks. A conversation is held at every concert, and, for those who listen, Greg has something to say.
