The Art of Jazz Presents: Bonestrings

Bonestrings is an enchanting musical event filled with bright notes, bright jokes and musical insights.

Jazz valve-trombonist Phil Allen and and jazz guitarist Tom Taylor make up Bonestrings and you never know what you're going to hear from these gifted composer/arrangers It could be a jazz standard song or maybe a classic rock tune by Eric Clapton or perhaps a Bach 2-part invention or one of Phil's or Tom's original compositions. These two musical heavyweights provide some fine music and sometimes maybe the banter is worth the show.

Phil came to Colorado Springs by way of San Mateo CA where he wrote for and played in The Collective West Jazz Orchestra. He is originally from Indianapolis. IN where he played with and wrote for The Von Ohlen/Allee Big Band among others. Phil currently leads Colorado Springs-based,contemporary big band Thin Air Jazz.

An award winning composer Tom, is originally from the San Jose CA area. Currently the jazz guitar instructor at Colorado College Tom leads CC's Tiger Jazz. His composition, Ishi Sings was performed this past February in San Jose and received very strong reviews.

Fine wine, craft beers served by Soirée in a lovely intimate setting.
