Join us for a musical evening of remembering Chuck Haas – guitarist, musician, husband, father, brother, friend.
Featuring: Mark Tedder and Friends, Chuck Limbrick and Friends, Dan Tharaldson, Jason Bennett and Rich Currier, Laura Fitzgerald, Jeremy Haas, The Sistahs and more.
Chuck Haas’s musical geography was as varied as his journeyed life, performing alongside and/or opening for the likes of Robin and Linda Williams (“A Prairie Home Companion”), blues maven Rory Block, guitar icon Phil Keaggy, crooner Margaret Becker, and others. Chuck’s roots spring from that magical time that gave rise to the Byrds, James Taylor, YES, Steeleye Span, Bruce Cockburn, Strawbs, Pat Metheny and the Windham Hill crowd. His repertoire consisted of Celtic, light-jazz, Americana, standards and instrumental pop-tunes as well as original compositions.
Chuck played music professionally and recorded three albums; MidWinter Spring’s “Scratch the Sky” recorded in 1990 (out of print), Cede’s “Carried Away” recorded in 2002 and SimpleMan’s “LeBeaux’s Dance” recorded in 2005. He and his music partner, Dan Tharaldson, along with Terry Taylor were in the process of reviving SimpleMan when Chuck passed away. Chuck was very involved in the citywide music project “Positively Pikes Peak” with singer/songwriter Jason Bennett and other talented musicians. Chuck performed regularly at The Mona Lisa Wine Cellar and other local venues such as art openings, conferences, gallery events, concerts and restaurants.
