Having had no traditional guitar or vocal training, American Country Singer/Songwriter Jacob Christopher Gallegos was able to forge a howling voice to make you believe his passion behind the lyric.
Having being active as an artist since 2013, he sang coffee shops, open mics, and played on the streets of downtown Colorado Springs, saving up just enough to record what was the start of his career.
The Good Times EP was made on the idea of innocent years before life truly shows how hard you can get hit.
He was able to tour around the State of Colorado and open for a some National Country Artists such as Josh Gracin and LoCash.
Before being a part of the Nash Next Country Music Competition he was nominated as New Artist of the Year at the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards in 2017 where he shortly after put out the Heart Broken Down EP which has elevated the number of shows and constant touring he is able to do as well as open for more National Country Artists such as Canaan Smith, Morgan Evans and Jackson Michaelson.
Jacob Christopher Gallegos was adopted and raised off the beaten path in Hoehne, Colorado by a single mother and 4 other brothers and sisters.
Coming from a very blue-collar farm family his musical influences came from early on from listening to AC-DC, Linkin’ Park, Randy Travis, Prince, and to some of the greatest songwriters such as Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Vince Gill and Bruce Springsteen.
After having many devastating injuries in multiple high school sports, Jacob picked up the guitar at 17 from the boredom of constantly being in a hard cast or recovering from sport related surgery’s.
“I remember sneaking into my oldest brothers Ross and Christian’s room while they were gone and I would play the NOW CD’S and pick up Ross’s guitar and pretend I was Johnny Cash rocking out to Avril Lavigne! (as Jacob laughed).
I remember how happy my brother was to sing and perform at Sunday Mass and sing in Choir, I mean my brother was freaking’ Aladdin in a school play so I always secretly was captured by my brothers live performances and wanted to do that.
But in a school of 300 kids k-12 you kinda get stuck with being one thing but as a result it became a new hobby and eventually became a love and passion. ”
