The Knitting Circle

Please join Nikki Stitch and Felicia Kelly for The Knitting Circle, an exhibition exploring the interplay between the function of a knitted piece and the visual and conceptual experience of its viewer.

Work on display will spark the discussion of what is “art” and what is “craft” and seek to elevate the concept of creating a piece of fabric. Knitting is the forming of a tactile piece that is a conglomeration of craft, art, function, history, visual stimulation, messaging, and design. Each stitch celebrates the unsung women whose technical skills and artistic cleverness developed patterns, charts, and codes to produce not just traditional knitted garments, but to win wars, send us to the moon, and create inclusive communities around the world.
